Welcome to our office. My name is Dr. Silvio Ferrera … please call me Dr. Sil.
I was born and raised in Sarnia and attended St. Peter’s Catholic elementary school and Sarnia Central Collegiate high school.
In 1982, I graduated with honors from the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Dentistry and decided to return home to practice, while still maintaining a teaching position as a clinical instructor at the dental school.
In 1983, I, alongside my spouse Tina Proia, established our current Murphy Road practice location, often referred to as “the building with the round windows”.
Both my wife and I have been fortunate to have a wonderful staff and associate, Dr. Mario Moscone, who have allowed us to pursue our passion in providing the community dental services with the utmost respect and care.
My practice philosophy is to always ensure patient satisfaction by addressing your personal needs using science based dentistry. Over the years, I have been blessed and privileged to provide mentorship to several young dentists and aspiring dentists and genuinely hope they too have embraced this philosophy.
“As a mentor, I believe it is an important responsibility to embrace effective communication, empathy and interpersonal relationships. We must share these skills with those who follow in our footsteps.”
SILVIO FERRERA D.D.S.
Good day, bonjour and buon giorno, I’m Mario Moscone… aka “Dr. Mario” to most of my patients and sometimes just “Mario”.
I’ve been part of our dental office at 561 Murphy Rd. since I was 13. That’s right…l was a patient long before I was one of the dentists.
I was born, raised and educated in Sarnia prior to attending the University of Western Ontario, London. I graduated with distinction from the faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in 1993.
Prior to joining Dr. Ferrera in 1994, I spent a year in General Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s and University Hospital in London, Ontario. Since graduation, I have tried to dedicate myself to our profession, community and family. I have taught at the Dental School at Western for more years than I care to admit. I am a former president of the Lambton Dental Society, chief of Dental Services at Bluewater Health and Society Representative at the Ontario Dental Association. I have sat at the Medical Advisory Committee of Bluewater Health and the Surgical Program Committee. I became a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998.
Presently I am a proud member of the Lambton County Dental Society, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association and the International Team for lmplantology : London Chapter. I have active staff privileges at Bluewater Health and serve on its Credentials Committee.
In 2002, I married a local school teacher; Antonella (nee Solinas) and we have 2 girls Olivia and Sara. In our spare time when we’re not chauffeuring the girls to theatre, dance, swimming or vocal lessons, we enjoy travelling as a family.
If I’m not in the office, you can find me reading the newspaper or working in my back yard.
AIM HIGH, WORK HARD AND LOVE YOUR FAMILY
